We believe that the entrepreneur and the business model are, often more important than the business idea itself. We encourage entrepreneurs who have been achievers, either in their professional careers or in other spheres of life. We strongly believe that execution and implementation is more important than ideation and conceptualisation. Therefore, DOers with proven domain expertise and a demonstrated capability to multi-task are encouraged over strategists or thinkers. Past failures as an entrepreneur, but always with the entrepreneurial spirit of moving on and trying another idea, is considered as an added advantage. It is important for the individual/team to have the ability to sustain on no/low personal income for at least one year to be able to get chosen by Setu Ventures
As mentioned above, we lay more focus on the business model. In simple words, a clearly spelt out set of activities leading to more revenues as compared to costs in immediate to short term.
The business concept or idea does not necessarily have to be disruptive or unique. As long as the business idea of business concept is customer-centric with a clearly visible revenue stream in the near term (<6 months), we would be glad to work with the entrepreneur or the team. Our approach on valuation is centered on implementation and not on the business idea
